Inconceivable!
Pretty neat article and video :) Princess Bride was a staple in my childhood, its refreshing to see it brought back this way (ahem, Paul Rudd as Wesley, Foxtrot?)
So, enjoy this article and avoid the ROUS'! ;)

Muppet of a Man!
Foxtrot here, I'll start by saying I loved the Muppets. I'm really not a huge fan of musicals or puppets but, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. This Muppets film is based years after the Muppet group splits up. And with the help of Walter (a Muppet) and his brother Gary (Jason Segel) they have to come back for one more show to save their theater from a money hungry business man (Chris Cooper).
There wasn't a moment where I wasn't smiling or laughing thanks to Jason Segel's writing and acting. The musical numbers were the most fun from Segel's "Muppet of a Man" to Cooper's rap sequences. I highly recommend watching this feel good film for anyone who wants to go on a great, imaginative, cinematic ride.

the Three Musketeers: Predictable, Pirate-ey and utterly Entertaining
My theatre had about six people in it, my group making up half of them. As terribly excited as I was, I was a little disappointed that no one really knew any of the actors and hadn't seen them in anything prior. The casting in Musketeers was... superb. Matthew Macfayden (Pride and Prejudice, Pillars of the Earth), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans and the upcoming Immortals), Ray Stevenson (Rome, Thor, King Arthur), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds, King Arthur), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, King Arthur... sensing a trend here?) Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings, POTC), Logan Lerman (3:10 to Yuma, Percy Jackson and the Olympians), Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, Water for Elephants) and Milla Chokabitch I mean... Jovovich (Resident Evil - I don't even know what number they're on anymore, Ultra Violet).
Whew! Did ya get all that? I hope I didn't forget anyone...
All of these people listed above were finely, finely dressed. The costumes were, in short, AMAZING. Every little detail, thread and cut of fabric was, I can't imagine any other way, meticulously put together. The costumes Jovovich and Bloom wore were outstanding.
To match the costuming was the scenery and set department. I found myself not focusing on Christoph Waltz but, the walls behind him. It was definitely a pretty movie. Bright, shiny... sparkly. I like sparkly.
I saw this one in 2D, I only see 3D if I have to. Frankly, 2D is the way to go with this one. Usually, when watching 2D you can see what's supposed to be poppin' out atcha but... not so much. Go with the 2D, my friends.

Did that just happen? That just happened.
We need to pimp this ho...
So... working on some shirt ideas and ya'll need to help me out! I'd be perfectly happy with plastering a shirt with William Fichtner and Kim Coates and being done with it but, I'm thinking not everyone would be down with that...

Candy!
IMdB is throwing all kinds of goodies at us today, the highlight being the new Avengers trailer! *suppresses a squeal* Thor, Mr. Stark and... Captain America (I'm more interested in the first two but, apparently I only get the leftover crumbs! Foxtrot...) anyway, I have a sneakin' suspicion that I'll have a thing for Loki... I always have thing for Iron Man's enemies. Jeff Bridges, Mickey Rourke... add Mr. Hiddleston to the list.
And, trailer number two for the day... a Star Trek blend of new Captain Kirk and Praetor Shinzon from Nemesis... and Til Schweiger who I don't think was in a Star Trek but, is utterly enjoyable none the less...
Enjoy those trailers, movie douches...

As I promised!
I found the Michelle Williams article on Vogue, not my favorite magazine but, it will do. On the other hand the Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender is from my favorite magazine, W. Can't wait for the first so I can get my November issue :)

Oh, Do we love this Viking or do we love him!?!?!
Here's a pretty cool article from Alexander Skarsgard, who if you didn't know is Stellan Skarsgard's wittle baby boy! (hm... should I hit on the son or the father!? oh those sexy Saxons!)
Well, here's a pretty cool article/interview with the vampire sheriff... oh how I wish I was that waitress.
http://nymag.com/movies/features/alexander-skarsgard-2011-9/
As I've been writing these, I'm getting a strong male influenced-vibe. Apologies for any men reading this, we'll try to talk about girls every once in awhile...
But, I continue on with the gents...
As I'll let almost everyone know, Guillermo Del Toro is one of my *favorite* producers/directors (and then, I'll go on to tell you about how I bought this beautiful Del Toro disc collection and how it only works in Mexico....) anyway, he's done some of my favorite movies, worked with my favorite actors and terrified me to the core... as well as warmed my heart with Barry Manilow (Abe and Red scene in Hellboy 2)
I haven't seen 'Don't be Afraid of the Dark" yet but, its on my list and I'm so looking forward to Pacific Rim with Charlie Hunnam, win? Win.
From the article below, it sounds like Del Toro has a lot of on his To-Do list, which makes me a happy gal! (sounds like I'm gonna have to start gaming...)
Unfortunately, they didn't mention 'the Strain' trilogy which Del Toro wrote, some of my favorite books! I love these books, if you know Del Toro you'll pick up hints and nuggets from his movies. Really great reads... Blade 2 vampires? Love. I'm currently in the middle of the second book and am still terrified to go into our storage room... day or night.
Enjoy!

And, finally my last indulgence for today... probably the movie I've been waiting for the longest... The Three Musketeers! Woo! Okay... calm down.
Let me just take a moment, and list all of MY men (watch out Foxtrot.... Imma call dibs right now.) that are in this movie... Ray Stevenson (huge squeal... Rome anyone? I love this man.) Orly Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew Macfayden, MADS MIKKELSEN (he turns me into a hot mess every time I see him) and last but not least, Til Schweiger :)
I have no doubt that 82% of these men will in some way or another are going to... *sniffle* die.
Anyway, the author of my final link is on my hit list. Who doesn't love fancy pants mustaches, men, period garb, feathered hats, men, eye patches, ALL OF MY MEN, flying boats, billowing skirts and.... all of my favorite people galloping around with pointy swords.

Aw.... Weren't they cute? The grow up so fast...
Pretty cool article! Motherbird did not know that Bill Lucking was in Star Trek: Enterprise! (which, happens to be her favorite Star Trek... Archer is a stud muffin. Especially the episode where Archer and Tucker go down to some desert planet and get all naked and sweaty........ whoa... got a little sidetracked...)
Anyway, pretty cool article about my favorite leather clad gents (and ladies!)

Andy Whitfield
Whitfield's wife, Vashti, released this statement this evening:
"On a beautiful sunny Sydney spring morning, surrounded by his family, in the arms of his loving wife, our beautiful young warrior Andy Whitfield lost his 18 month battle with lymphoma cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by love. Thank you to all his fans whose love and support have help carry him to this point. He will be remembered as the inspiring, courageous and gentle man, father and husband he was."
Andy will definitely be missed.
The third season of Spartacus is planned to be released early 2012.

Motherbird's Tuesday Night Moments, They're Back!
I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum for those who have not seen it... but, you've been warned... spoilers may pop up here and there... most likely they will.
So, with the new iPod/Android app for SOA (which everyone should invest in... very cool!) we saw that Jax was shanked in between S3 and S4 by... *gasp* those Russians! (ya know, we couldn't trust Ivan Drago... hellur?) Anyway, Jax is okay and is now looking a little... buffer! (I personally, would not bang him... but, I know the market is out there...) Okay, focus... our boys have one of my favorite type of scenes in the beginning montage: a lovely walk together whilst playing an awesome song. I am always most affected by those first few/last minutes of SOA. With that, I nearly shat myself when I though Otto had offed himself. You know you've got a good show when I have to change my undies before the theme song plays.
So, they get home... lots of kissing, lots of banging and a really awkward conversation involving Clay, Juice and speed banging...and then horse meat in g-strings...
OPIE AND LYLA'S WEDDING! I promise to treat you as good as my leather and ride you as much as my Harley. All I can say is that I now HAVE to marry a biker man so he can say that at our wedding. Damn you SOA!!! It was a lovely wedding. Russian massacre and all...
ha! You all thought that I wasn't going to say anything! Wrong-o! TIG. TIG. TIG. I love him. And his new soul patch scruff he's got going on. He is such a man. He could ride me as hard as his Harley... Okay... I need to stop before I go overboard (I think I just did)... You'll be hearing a lot about that man because I have a serious crush on him and his chest hair. Yeah. Judge me.
As Kurt Sutter, the Pimp of SOA, as said, Sons is a bit like Hamlet. As we all know, pretty much everyone dies in Hamlet. I'm hoping SOA deaths will be... metaphoric deaths. I don't think I could handle any one of those guys... *gulp* dead. Shoot, I shed a little tear when Hale died! (he looked sooo good in that khaki police get up... and you know he secretly wanted to be a member of SAMCRO...) So, if you're reading this Mr. Sutter... METAPHORIC DEATHS ONLY. Or, you could switch it to like, Midsummer Night's Dream... where they all just end up nekked and married. I'd be down.
Anyway, the SOA premiere rocked the numbers and someone (Please, dear baby Jesus let it be me) will be hanging out with Kurt Sutter and Katey Sagal (and maybe some other cast members) at Kurt and Katey's home, how cool is that!? To stay in the loop for all kinds of contests, SOA news and Kurt's totally awesome tweets go here:

The spot to be for SOA fan fiction, pictures, discussions and all things Tig head over to Tignation! Its a truly awesome bunch of peeps, with watch parties every Tuesday night in the chat room! Very cool. Check out:

and, finally a little bit of fanfic pimpin! A good Tig story is on fanfiction.net and the author is elizabethbruttenholm and her story is titled Kryptonite, defo check her out!
Sons of Anarchy will return THIS Tuesday (yippee!) at 9 o'clock (my time, check your local listings!)
Over and Out. Tig.

Motherbird has a Moment.
Who wouldn't want that hunk of steaming man meat professing his undying love for you on Facebook and/or Twitter!? I would. Sorry... got a little carried away... expect more of him... and others in the months to follow!
Anyway...
The trailer, Underworld Awakening... the link be below! Get an extra pair of panties, kiddies. You're gonna need em.
http://www.empireonline.com/news/feed.asp?NID=31823
Thanks, Empire! Now, let's judge. How do you NOT know that you didn't have a daughter... is it her daughter!? I think so. But, even vampires have to know a watermelon is popping out of her hooha! Am I right? I've never had that happen but, I hear its quite recognizable as far as the symptons go. What do you guys think!? Its cute though, Selene, Michael and Eve - Happy Family! Although, Selene must feel like the odd one out not being Hybrid or anything special like that... or feeling like a complete tramp for killing Marcus.... and Viktor.... and Kraven.... and slighly causing Lucian's death... skank. I still love her. I hope she brings back those grenade-frisbee things... one of my favorite parts. And, hopefully we'll get a little Raze... jungle fever!!! Okay... I need to stop now. Motherbird + Underworld = LOVE.
Team Viktor. Over and Out.
Best. Fruit. Punch. Ever. I would totes get on that man. Over and Out. Fur reals.

Who's up for a close encounter?
Seth Rogen's stoner voice played perfectly into Paul's character. Paul's free willed, hippy persona is just the change up we needed from the usual aliens on the big screen. The CGI of Paul's character was so well done and convincing thus allowing us to just enjoy the character and not having to think about how crappy the appearance is.
As for the rest of the cast, Kristen Wiig's Jesus freak turned free willed, cursing, fornicating character was the perfect choice. Her character is funny and romantic but not by any means a scene stealer. Jason Bateman was most enjoyable in his role. Instead of playing a "the man has got me down" funny guy he plays a bad ass secret agent, which was a nice change up that he pulled off very well. Counteracting Bateman's new found bad ass attitude are Bill Hader and Joe Lo Truglio who added some nice corky comedy.
Paul is an original, entertaining story especially to all of us nerds who catch all of the nicely dropped alien film references. Some of my favorite references include Stephen Spielberg voicing a phone call to Paul about E.T., the location used in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and of course the best one is of Sigourney Weaver playing the head of the unit hunting down Paul.
Fuck-a-roo, Paul is one of the best titty farting films I've seen in sometime. You bet your hairy love-eggs I'd recommend that everyone experience this cinematic adventure. Over and out.

Roseanne for President!
"You know, Jay, I decided that since you're the one that got Arnold Schwarzenegger elected as governor of California, that I wanted to make my announcement here on your show because I really wanted to ask for your support, " Roseanne said. "My announcement is that I am running for president of the United States."
Foxtrot talks Captain America
Cowboys and Aliens
Foxtrot: It's a Saturday night, theater is packed and I'm sitting back row (my t.v. looks bigger at this point). Lucky me gets to sit next to a five year old commentator and his obnoxious father. So you can see how well I recieved Cowboys and Aliens. Initially I thought Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford would be a great match up but once they appeared on screen together the Bond/Indy reputations were just to much to take in at once. Although Ford did a brilliant job as usual his character itself was hard to accept, going from cocky young hero to old father figure. Craig seemed to of went in and did his job and left, nothing over the top and certaintly nothing to remember with exception of that bulge. I was excited to see Olivia Wilde would be hitting the big screen in a big way but she indeed disappointed, only to prove she's not ready for something this big. Some of the more enjoyable acting in this film was Sam Rockwell's right dosage of comic relief.
Motherbird: First of all, I found out that Robert Downey Jr. was signed on as Jack Longergan but, dropped out because of scheduling. I'm glad I found that out before or else I'd have watched the movie completely differently. I think Downey would have rocked it. Even more than Daniel Craig whose Merican talk was real good but, he lacked a certain charisma that Downey never fails to bring. Second, Eva Green was offered the role of Ella but, turned it down. Again, I think first choice would have rocked it. Eva has something exotic going for that Oliva lacks. Even though Robert and Eva are two of my favorite actors, the cast was larger than life and performed well. I agree that Daniel Craig gave the impression that he walked on set, delivered his lines, ran around, rode a horse and then collected his check and left. His bulge and his butt had more screen time than he did. They deserve their own credits. Olivia was by no means spectacular. I'm not saying she did a bad job... she was just.. there. I still feel like Olivia is still Quorra from Tron... but, I'm sure she did her best. Harrison Ford is still the man. He delivered. It was nice to seem him in a role that everyone, at the beginning, thought he was kind of a jerk. I think we are a little used to sassy, sexy Indy/Han. My favorite characters/actors were the smaller roles. Sam Rockwell owned the comic relief corner and looked delish with a 'stache. Scruffy and Dirty is a good look for him. Clancy Brown. Very happy with that one. I'm glad Favreau and Clancy decided on a NORMAL Christian guy. None of that damning us all to hell, fire and brimstone that so often gives us Jesus lovers a bad rap. I liked it. And for some strange reason I was disappointed that Wes Studi wasn't the Indian chief. Isn't he ALWAYS the Indian chief?!
Foxtrot: Alien films have increasingly become more popular within the past five years but their the same stories playing on repeat. So the most enjoyable part about this film is it's overall originality. With this originality comes some great action sequences especially when you sprinkle in some indians. What I liked the most about the story was that it wasn't a constant "Why are they here?", "What do they want?", "How are we possibly going to defeat them?", etc. The story is fast pace and the film reveals answers quickly and gets down to kicking alien ass. Now that we're on the subject of the alien, it was a major disappointment. The creature design was poor and unoriginal. The one enjoyable part about the alien was the revealing, unlike most alien films they didn't make you wait unitl the end for the disappointment.
Motherbird: Oh those aliens. I've got a love/hate relationship with them. Now, I don't want to go around shouting "RIP OFF" but... I was getting a strong whiff of District 9 mixed with Cloverfield and a hint of Independence day. Which makes them slightly unoriginal but, nevertheless cool. I think we need to get some fresh, new minds in Hollywood thinking of some new monsters and aliens. The fight scenes betweens the Cowboys/Indians and the Aliens were some of my favorite parts. Nothing beats of good hand to clay combat. Although, for not being able to see well in the day they sure could woop some cowpoke booty. (thanks for telling us they couldn't see well during the day, Ella. Sheesh.) Which brings me around to Ella. First of all, in a western, never trust a single woman with a gun who doesn't ride side saddle. Ever. She's bound to be trouble. I am always a little leary about these heroines. They can make or break a movie. I feel like Ella busted this one up. As soon as she said she was an alien, I gave her an eye roll and started to worry more about he dog.
Foxtrot: Now down to the technical aspects. Most critics will agree the special effects were near flawless. To the ships to the aliens themselves it was very well done. As far as the cinematography done by Matthew Libatique (Iron Man, Black Swan), it was executed beautifully. Some of my favorite shots were of Craig in the desert scenes or of the alien attack on the town. The cinematography and editing was so well done it made the film look a little to clean cut. And clean cut isn't my first thought that comes to mind with a western/sci-fi film. But one of the greatest things about the film is that they didn't lower themselves into slapping 3D on it.
Motherbird: I concur. I'm glad we didn't have 3D. So many movies are too focused on what can we make stick out that they forget to work on anything else. Everything in moderation.
Foxtrot: Overall, under my circumstances I enjoyed the films originality, cast and development of the story. Jon Favreau did an excellent job and by no means did not disappoint.
Motherbird: Agree. In a state (North Dakota) where this movie wasn't very anticipated because of its "far fetched-ness" I highly enjoyed the movie. Its a movie I'll buy and add to the collection. Definitely one for a movie night with your buds.
Over and Out.
